Jeff Wirth is one of our industry’s gentlemen. He is a quiet achiever and our operator of choice for any job that requires efficient, detailed and timely work done. With a combination of 35-years’ experience and considerable finesse, his skills as an operator are unparalleled.
Joe Wagner hired Jeff a couple of months after Joe started his business in 1985. Although Jeff didn’t have any experience on machines, Joe had heard that he was a good worker and good with all things mechanical.
Jeff proved to be a natural… any machine he jumped on, he could drive; and although self-taught, his mechanical and welding knowledge and skills are impressive.
Jeff is uncomfortable with attention, and would rather quietly get on with his work (it took some persuading to get him to agree to this article). Despite his reticence, he garners a great deal of respect and affection.
Many of our regular clients will specifically request Jeff as an operator on their projects, and even if he isn’t working for them, they ask after him; wanting to know how he is, where he is working, and what he is doing.
A patient and thorough teacher, Jeff has always been willing to mentor and train any of our younger operators who are willing to learn. He has been an inspiration and positive influence on several of our leading operators and many of them aspire to his level of skill.
Jeff is a wealth of knowledge, a good story-teller, and just a genuinely nice guy. We are very aware of our good fortune to have him as an employee, co-worker and friend.
