One of our priorities
We were proud to reach the finals of the Queensland Training Awards this year, as it was recognition of our emphasis on staff training. At any one time, we have at least 95% of our workforce in some kind of training; whether that be:
- Self-driven study
- Site-specific inductions, or
- Training in workplace procedures.
We work hard to tailor training to suit the individual needs of our employees and the aims of our company.
Our administrator Rachael is the star who makes all this happen. She works closely with our training providers, actively looking for the right opportunities for our employees.
She constantly encourages the staff to sign up for new courses and is currently in the process of registering 14 employees for traineeships. Needless to say, she is very busy!
In the past 12 months, we have seen the completion of:
- 10 Apprenticeships/traineeships
(6 x Cert III Plant operations, & 4 x Cert III Road Construction & Maintenance)
- 6 x Cert IV Civil Supervision
- 1 x Cert III Driving Operations
- 1 x Cert IV Business Administration, and
- 1 x Cert IV Human Resources,
as well as a oodles of short courses, tickets and high-risk training. A well-trained workforce is a safe and efficient workforce.
