Demolition Works, Laidley

For the purpose of upgrading wastewater treatment in the Laidley region, Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) put out a tender for the demolition of several old farm buildings on land earmarked for development. Joe Wagner Group successfully tendered for this project.

Works included:

  • Limited excavation in order to preserve historic pipework
  • Excavation of concrete footings
  • Demolition of house, farm buildings and cattle yards
  • Demolition of concrete slabs
  • Removal of non-native trees

This project required extensive liaison with QUU, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, and the original owner to resolve all historic issues and finalize methodology.

As this was a fire-ant risk zone, we strictly observed all fire-ant legislation in regards to waste disposal and were also able to recycle much of the material, thereby greatly reducing pressure on local landfill.

The job was completed in two stages due to historic ownership issues and Joe Wagner Group exercised great flexibility and mobility in dealing with changing circumstances.

We met all expectations and completed the job on time with no LTIs.
