The Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport is a landmark development for Queensland, being the first greenfield public airport built in Australia in 47 years and the nation’s first privately funded public airport.
Works included:
- Provision of plant, labour and supervision for the construction of stormwater drainage infrastructure.
- Over 6,000m of re-enforced precast: pipes (up to 2.8m), box culverts (up to 2.4m x 1.2m) man holes, drop structures and precast end structures
- Stormwater cast in-situ base slabs, large drainage pits up to 5.5m x 3m and cast in-situ end structures
We also completed 280 bored piles for the airport terminal, constructed using earth-friendly concrete.
The project was completed to DTMR standards with some amendments to specifications for works conducted under the aircraft pavement.
Our accurate planning of the works ensured that the very tight construction deadlines were met. Safety remained a priority to all staff, and we delivered first-class infrastructure to the client.
