Jubilee Park Fire Trails

Joe Wagner Group was contracted to deliver the trail formation and sheeting works on the Harvey Street-Amos Road fire trail in one of Toowoomba’s largest natural bushland reserves. This was in order to provide a low-maintenance vehicle trail to improve the function and safety of use for Council maintenance and fire-fighting vehicles in all weather.

Works included:

  • Formation of the trail to a new grade line
  • Widening of trail and cutting embankments in places
  • Improving the trail with a 150ml cement-treated pavement
  • Installation of rock-lined side drains with diversion banks at various locations

Steep terrain required the use of AWD, tracked and articulated mining machinery. Regular showers made the tracks incredibly slippery and slowed progress. To overcome this, we stock-piled materials along the track, and left plant in place instead of removing the machinery from site each day. This enabled us to complete the project well within the client’s time-frame with no LTIs.
