Oakey Service Station

Earthworks, drainage, pavement, and surfacing works for the intersection upgrade and to facilitate heavy vehicle manoeuvres entering and exiting the new service station at the intersection with the Warrego Highway.

WORKS INCLUDED

As Principal Contractor, JWG were responsible for the safe and timely delivery of all work in accordance with the clients requirements, design details and TMR specification.

The intersection upgrade works included but were not limited to

  • Provision of traffic management and environmental controls.
  • Clearing, Grubbing and Topsoil Stripping
  • Bulk Earthworks and demolition of existing structures.
  • Construction of new insitu concrete culverts and causeways.
  • Extension of existing precast and insitu concrete culverts.
  • Subgrade replacement, including the use of geotextile layers
  • GST and Subgrade preparation.
  • Placement of unbound and bound pavement layers.
  • Completion of seal and bitumen pavements.
  • Installation of road furniture, delineation, and line marking.
  • Reinstatement and revegetation of all disturbed areas.

The project team (JWG staff, our supply partners, and the design team) overcame challenging ground and weather conditions to successfully deliver a quality project in advance of the service station opening and with Zero LTI’s.
